Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bob Jam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angel Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Angel Torres has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bob Jam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Angel Torres!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torres swats away the attempt to clinch by Jam.
Jam tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Torres swivels and escapes.

Jam drives through with a takedown into guard.

Torres has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jam can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Torres escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jam gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jam pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Torres is keeping the position for now.
Jam looking to sit in guard and control but Torres gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Torres trying to control the position from guard on top but Jam is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jam throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Jam wants to sweep here but Torres controlling him for the moment.
Jam bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Torres's guard.
Jam is looking to stand up but Torres won't let him.
Jam wants to stand and escape but instead Torres has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jam throws his legs up looking for a submission but Torres uses it to pass to side control.
Jam is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Torres is controlling him well.

Jam bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Jam changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Torres looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Torres tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Torres sneaks back into half guard.
It looks like Jam is going to stand back up.

Jam is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Torres defends it well.

Torres looking for submissions off his back.
Torres looks gassed!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Jam is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Torres is just riding it out for now. Jam eventually gives up the hold.
Jam frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Torres is trying desperately to improve position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Jam dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Jam fails to land the takedown.
Torres misses with a takedown

and Jam counters with a nice double leg into side control. Torres won't be happy with that.

Jam tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jam has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Jam decides to stand back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Torres with a poor takedown

and Jam counters with a single leg into guard. Torres didn't expect that.
Torres is breathing heavily.

Torres is working an open guard so Jam takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Jam shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Torres counters with a shoot takedown. Jam fights it but they end up in guard.

Torres postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jam is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Torres, into his guard.
Jam pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Torres is keeping the position for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Jam stands and steps away. Torres gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jam closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Torres to the mat! Torres manages to get full guard.

Torres looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Jam gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Good standup being displayed there by Jam as he connects with a hook.
Jam shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Torres counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Torres.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Jam. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jam jumps guard but Torres stands there with Jam around his waist. Jam gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Torres ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Torres no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Torres is working an open guard so Jam takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Jam misses with a looping left.

Jam feints and as Torres raises his hands in defense, Jam changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Torres working for a triangle but Jam defends it easily.

Torres keeping busy on the bottom but Jam has passed one foot through into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jam slips a nice elbow through Torres's hands, connecting with Torres's forehead.
Torres wants to sweep but Jam has passed to side control!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jam in side control lands a decent elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Jam dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Jam fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jam motions for Torres to come forward. Jam throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Torres shoots and misses

and Jam counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Jam is working for a kimura but Torres is defending it quite comfortably.

Jam seems to be working for a kimura but Torres defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Torres takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Torres is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jam tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Jam in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Torres tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Jam!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bob Jam!
