Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Forrest Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Waltari Suokuokka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin comes to the cage accompanied by Killing In The Name. Suokuokka has chosen Paul Engemann - Scarface (Push It to the Limit) as his entrance music. Waltari Suokuokka has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
18 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Forrest Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Waltari Suokuokka!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suokuokka scores with a jab to the body.
Suokuokka moves into range and clinches up with Griffin.
Suokuokka works on Griffin's body with a couple of short punches.
Griffin scores with a nice hook to the head.
Griffin lands with a left to the head.
Suokuokka looking for a takedown.
Griffin manages to break the clinch.
Suokuokka blocks a head kick by Griffin.
Waltari Suokuokka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Suokuokka throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Griffin.
Suokuokka is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Griffin.
Horrible takedown by Suokuokka or perhaps it was just good defense by Griffin which made him look bad.
Griffin scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Griffin doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Griffin swinging wildly here.
Suokuokka tries to close the distance and clinch but Griffin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Griffin.
Suokuokka blocks a head kick by Griffin.
Suokuokka shoots in for a double leg but Griffin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Forrest Griffin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Waltari Suokuokka.
Suokuokka will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Griffin throws a leg kick which misses Suokuokka's front leg but catches the back leg as Suokuokka tries to avoid it.
Suokuokka dives in and grabs Griffin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Griffin pushes down on Suokuokka's head and hops out.
Griffin lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Griffin misses with a head kick.
Griffin throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Griffin takes a shot right to the bread basket.
A head kick misses from Griffin.
Griffin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Griffin lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Suokuokka has closed the distance and engaged Griffin in a clinch.
Suokuokka is looking to take this one to the mat.
Suokuokka pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Suokuokka shoots and misses
and Griffin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Some wild striking there from Suokuokka.
Suokuokka looks winded!
Griffin moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Suokuokka is rocked!
Griffin cracks Suokuokka with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Suokuokka tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Griffin pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Suokuokka is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Forrest Griffin!
