Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sergei Khripunova!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khripunova defending well as Koski loads up on a big left hand.
Khripunova checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Khripunova throws a combination that misses
and Koski counters with a head kick.

Koski fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Khripunova sprawls well initially but Koski persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Koski is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Khripunova defends it well.
Khripunova wants to control but Koski is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Khripunova wants to improve his position but Koski is controlling well.
Khripunova is trying to control but can't.

Khripunova is defending against the submission attempts here by Koski.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Koski is trying to control the action in half guard but Khripunova is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Koski is looking for a kimura but Khripunova is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Koski to get the leverage.

Khripunova trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Koski manages to pass to mount!
Khripunova is trying to escape the mount.
Koski fails to move to back control.
Khripunova is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Koski has taken his back.
Khripunova has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Koski tries to keep control of the position but Khripunova is staying busy.
Khripunova is really stuck here.
Khripunova tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Koski looking to control but Khripunova is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Koski is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Khripunova is forced to tap! Great finish!
