Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tommi Talentti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liam Nate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Talentti comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - Ecstasy Of Gold. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Liam Nate was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tommi Talentti! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Liam Nate! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nate looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Nate swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Nate enables Talentti to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nate manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Talentti drops back looking for a leg! Nate is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nate manages to kick Talentti off! Talentti jumps back into Nate's guard. Talentti advances to half guard. Nate has hold of Talentti's hands but Talentti slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Talentti looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nate is trying to stand up here but Talentti is controlling him well. Talentti is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nate sees it coming and defends easily. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's one minute gone in the round. Talentti tries to pass the half guard into mount. Nate knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Talentti throwing shots but Nate is blocking nicely. Nate tries to kick Talentti off but Talentti keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Talentti looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Talentti is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nate defends it well. Talentti stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Nate to get to his feet. Nice jab there from Nate. Talentti shoots in looking for a takedown but Nate manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Talentti's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nate throws a lazy right hand but Talentti sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Talentti closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Nate's guard. Talentti drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Talentti jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Nate is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Talentti is controlling him. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Talentti throwing strikes from guard but Nate blocks nicely. Talentti is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Talentti drops back looking for a leg! Nate is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nate manages to kick Talentti off! Talentti jumps back into Nate's guard. Talentti stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nate swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nate can't keep his opponent in guard - Talentti advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Talentti trying to mount his opponent but Nate defends it. Talentti is looking for a kimura here.
Talentti is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Nate has managed to free his arm - good work. Talentti working over Nate with some ground and pound. Nate looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Talentti looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Nate manages to escape and get back to his feet! No luck for Talentti with that takedown attempt. Nate throws a right hand that misses
and Talentti decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nate's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Talentti won't allow Nate to get back to his feet. Talentti distracts Nate with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Talentti has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Talentti prevents Nate from getting back to his feet. Talentti stands up from Nate's guard - Talentti perhaps looking for a knockout. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nate rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Talentti counters with a two punch combo. Talentti moves into range and clinches up with Nate. Nate is looking to break free of the clinch but Talentti has double underhooks. Talentti working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tommi Talentti dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Talentti ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Talentti shoots for a takedown but Nate saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Talentti throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nate's waist but Nate gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Talentti off to one side. Nate throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Talentti counters with a takedown into side control. Nate is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Talentti in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Talentti thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Nate wants to get back to his feet. Check out the look on Talentti's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nate is trying to buck Talentti off. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Talentti is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nate has escaped the position, nice work there. Nate is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Talentti working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Talentti misses with the ground and pound. Talentti is trying to get an arm triangle but Nate is defending well. Nate is pushing Talentti's head away, looking to escape. Talentti manages to hold on to the position though. Talentti is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nate has escaped the position, nice work there. Nate tries to escape but Talentti is in control. Talentti throws a strike aimed at the side of Nate's head but Nate avoids it well. Talentti decides to stand up, so the ref orders Nate to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Nate. Those never looked like landing. No joy there for Nate, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Talentti clinches up against the cage. Talentti has Nate pressed against the cage, preventing Nate from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Nate is looking to break free of the clinch but Talentti has double underhooks. Talentti has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Nate regains guard immediately. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Talentti tries to free his leg and advance position but Nate is retaining full guard. Talentti passes easily into side control. Nice work. Talentti landing strikes. Talentti sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Nate is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Talentti tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Talentti has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Nate pushes Talentti away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Talentti gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nate tries to escape back to his feet but Talentti has kept hold of him... Oh, now he's got Nate's back and is looking for the choke... Is it? Is it sunk in? YES! Nate is tapping! Talentti saw the opportunity and took it - ruthless!
