Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dan Severn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugh Matthews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Severn comes into the arena with 50 cent ft mann - buzzin new song 2010 music video blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan Severn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hugh Matthews! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Matthews throws a right hand that Severn ducks under and follows up with a left that Severn also avoids with ease. Matthews looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Matthews stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Severn swivels though and keeps the full guard. Severn keeping moving, preventing Matthews from controlling successfully. Severn preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Matthews won't allow Severn to sweep him here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Matthews trying to control but Severn is working from the bottom.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Hugh Matthews wasn't active enough on the ground. Matthews throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
That's one minute gone in the round. Matthews throws a right and a left that both miss. Severn gets the takedown into side control. Severn wants to control but Matthews is keeping him busy. Severn working the ground and pound but Matthews is defending the strikes. Severn in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Matthews is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Severn in side control, throwing shots but Matthews defends. Severn trying to control the action but Matthews is working from the bottom. Matthews wants to get back to his feet but Severn drags him back down. Matthews is not content to let Severn control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Matthews tries to escape but Severn is in control. Matthews dodges the ground and pound from Severn. Severn working away. Severn looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Matthews is avoiding damage well.
Severn controlling the position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Severn trying to control the position but Matthews is working away. Matthews is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Severn has just dragged him back down to the mat. Severn content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Matthews lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
It looks like Dan Severn has been cut. Matthews slaps away a takedown attempt from Severn, before circling back to the center of the mat. Matthews throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Matthews connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Hugh Matthews seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Severn tries to keep at a distance but Matthews has taken the fight into the clinch. Matthews pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Severn avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Severn shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Severn circles away from the clinch attempt.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Matthews slaps away a takedown attempt from Severn, before circling back to the center of the mat. Matthews scores with a crisp jab that stopped Severn in his tracks. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hugh Matthews dominated that round. The cut man is working on Dan Severn's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Severn shoots for a takedown but Matthews saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Severn avoids a lazy jab quite easily. A big right followed by a crushing left from Matthews knocks Severn out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Hugh Matthews! A less than humble Hugh Matthews misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
