The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OConnell throws a poor cross that misses
and Cooper counters with a nice uppercut.
OConnell misses with a body shot.
Seamus OConnell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cooper gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and OConnell counters with a stiff right hand.
Cooper throws a combination but it was largely blocked by OConnell.
OConnell tries to bum rush Cooper with a series of wild strikes but Cooper uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Cooper dives in and grabs OConnell's left leg, looking for a takedown. OConnell pushes down on Cooper's head and hops out.

OConnell throws a looping overhand right but Cooper ducks down to avoid it.

OConnell displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cooper.

and OConnell takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

OConnell is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cooper doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time OConnell.

OConnell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

OConnell wants to stand and escape but instead Cooper has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Cooper drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Cooper seems to have locked his on tight now - OConnell screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Cooper, as he picks up the win!
