Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Byrne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Harbor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for David Byrne has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Byrne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Harbor!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Byrne scores with a shot to the body.
Harbor throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Harbor swings for the body but Byrne moves out of range.
Byrne tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Harbor was well out of range. Poor timing from Byrne.
Harbor misses with a body shot.
Byrne throws a shot to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Byrne looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Byrne displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Harbor.
Byrne slips a jab from Harbor.
Byrne dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Harbor. That did some damage!

The fighters circling - Harbor throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Good leg kick by Byrne there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Harbor.

Harbor drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Harbor looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Byrne regains half guard, as Harbor was trying to land strikes.

Byrne wants to get back to full guard.
Byrne keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Harbor is looking to take a break and control but Byrne is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Harbor is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Byrne knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Harbor on the ground.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Harbor looks to land a right hand but Byrne moved out of range.

Byrne uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Harbor.
Harbor fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Byrne manages to avoid it.
Byrne lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Harbor throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Harbor fails with the takedown.
Byrne throws a leg kick which misses Harbor's front leg but catches the back leg as Harbor tries to avoid it.
Byrne rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Harbor moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Harbor on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Harbor tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Byrne was well out of range. Poor timing from Harbor.

Byrne closes the distance and clinches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Harbor swings for the body but Byrne moves out of range.

Byrne swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Byrne throws a head punch that misses.
Harbor stalling in the clinch but Byrne improves position.
Byrne presses Harbor against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Byrne lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Harbor is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Byrne can't fight it off and eventually Harbor manages to take the fight to the floor. Byrne looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Byrne uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Harbor.

Harbor darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Harbor is trying to work for a kimura but Byrne is defending well.

Harbor wants to control the pace but Byrne is squirming around nicely.
Byrne prevents Harbor from taking his back.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Harbor is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Byrne is surviving well by controlling Harbor's body position as best he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harbor jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Byrne is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Byrne and Harbor has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Harbor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Harbor is trying hard to land a takedown here. Byrne sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Harbor doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Byrne is looking to wear down Harbor with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Harbor closes the distance and clinches up with Byrne, looking for a takedown. Harbor pushes Byrne against the cage but Byrne circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Harbor tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Harbor wants to take the fight to the mat but Byrne manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Byrne swings wildly with an uppercut but Harbor uses good head movement to avoid it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
