Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Bridges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stewart Franks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bridges comes to the cage accompanied by Ludacris - Get Back. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Stewart Franks enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christopher Bridges !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stewart Franks!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Anthony Taglia and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franks throws a one two combo.
Stewart Franks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Franks slips under a jab.
Franks rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bridges moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Bridges has closed the distance and engaged Franks in a clinch.
Franks tries to land a knee to the head but Bridges blocks with his arms.
Bridges wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Franks drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bridges gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Franks looking to throw knees to the head but Bridges is blocking nicely.
Bridges has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Franks is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Franks tries a body shot but Bridges blocks it.
Franks lands a shoulder strike.
Bridges tries to pull guard but Franks won't allow it.
Franks throws an elbow that misses.

Bridges works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bridges trying to control but Franks is working from the bottom.

Franks has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bridges can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Franks escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bridges gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Franks fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Franks looks for a takedown but Bridges sprawls well.
Christopher Bridges has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stewart Franks.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Bridges shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Bridges winds up and cracks Franks with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Bridges is keen to just control but Franks is a slippery customer.

Bridges is nestled in close to Franks, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Bridges is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Bridges has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bridges is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Bridges is tying to control. Franks wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bridges connects with a nice short shot to Franks's temple.

Franks is in trouble now - Bridges has advanced to mount!
Franks slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Bridges lands with a punch from half guard.
Franks manages to get to full guard.
Franks trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Franks is looking for a triangle but Bridges pushes his legs off easily.
Franks looking for a sweep. Not yet Franks, not yet.
Franks lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bridges !

Bridges misses the jab.

Bridges closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bridges lands in his opponent's guard.
Bridges is in close to Franks's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Franks tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Franks doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Bridges postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Franks had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bridges is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Franks Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bridges 's back instead.
Bridges trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bridges breaks Franks's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Franks looking for a sweep. Not yet Franks, not yet.
Franks manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Bridges is looking to improve his position but Franks isn't that keen on the idea.

Franks wants to free his trapped foot but Bridges is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Bridges is looking for a sweep. Franks is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Franks scores with a leg kick.
Franks tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Franks swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Franks throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


It looks like Christopher Bridges has been cut.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bridges .
Nice takedown defense from Bridges . No joy for Franks on that attempt.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Franks, right into the meat.
Franks moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Bridges misses with a takedown
and Franks counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Bridges has his foot on Franks's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Franks works his way back into a safe position though.

Bridges has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Franks doesn't defend quickly enough and Bridges has managed to lock this one up! Can Franks escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Bridges on a fantastic submission victory.
