Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Truxillo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gerald Wilson! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Jorge Garcia and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Truxillo darts in and clinches Wilson up against the cage. Wilson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Truxillo has him pressed against the cage. Truxillo is working for takedown but Wilson is calmly controlling the position for now. Wilson wants to get back to striking at distance but Truxillo won't allow it.

Truxillo has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Wilson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Truxillo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wilson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Truxillo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Truxillo drops down looking for an ankle pick but Wilson pulls his leg out and moves away.

Truxillo fails with the takedown. Wilson cracks a nice hook into Truxillo's ribs. Truxillo is breathing heavily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wilson fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Wilson misses with a body kick. Wilson cracks Truxillo with a left hook right on the temple and Truxillo goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Wilson lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Truxillo is OK!
