Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kennie Sullens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Milo Samurian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kennie Sullens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Milo Samurian!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samurian misses with a takedown attempt - Sullens sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Samurian closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sullens to the mat! Sullens manages to get full guard.
Sullens knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Samurian on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Samurian accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Samurian gets to his feet - Sullens follows without any prompting.
Decent striking displayed by Sullens there.
Sullens is looking to clinch but Samurian is avoiding it.
Sullens throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Samurian showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sullens.
Samurian moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Samurian tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sullens swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Samurian is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sullens throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sullens dodges the punch combination from Samurian.
Sullens swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Samurian counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Sullens is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Samurian shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sullens as he avoids it easily.

Samurian connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Sullens to the floor! Samurian dives in looking for the finish!


Sullens is rocked!
Samurian has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Samurian stops Sullens from getting back to his feet.
Oh Sullens is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Samurian decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Sullens seems to have got his legs back now.
A cross from Sullens lands.
Sullens throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Samurian.
A solid leg kick lands there for Sullens.
Samurian avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sullens is breathing heavily.
Samurian has a takedown stuffed.
Kennie Sullens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Milo Samurian.

Samurian rushes Sullens and presses him up against the cage.

Samurian wants to break free but Sullens has control.

Samurian wants the takedown. Sullens is fighting it off but Samurian persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Sullens's guard against the cage.
Samurian looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Let's hope that Samurian has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Samurian loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Samurian is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Samurian wants to control from the top but Sullens keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Milo Samurian dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Samurian doesn't manage to clinch there - Sullens circles away.
A solid leg kick lands there for Sullens.
Sullens works over Samurian's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Milo Samurian has been cut.
Samurian closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sullens circles away.
Sullens with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Kennie Sullens is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Sullens.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Samurian dodges the punch combination from Sullens.

Samurian changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sullens looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Samurian sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Sullens is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Samurian content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Samurian unloads with some shots from mount but Sullens bucks and avoids them well.

Samurian is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sullens can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Samurian throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Samurian looking to finish Sullens with some ground and pound. This is bad for Sullens!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kennie Sullens dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Milo Samurian's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Samurian tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sullens swivels and escapes.
A nice leg kick lands there from Sullens.
Milo Samurian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Samurian closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Samurian lands in his opponent's guard.
Sullens might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Samurian controls from within his opponent's guard.
Samurian wants to control from the top but Sullens keeps moving.

Despite being in the dominant position, Milo Samurian just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sullens avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Samurian slips a jab and a cross from Sullens.
Sullens scores with a one two! Samurian had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

and Samurian counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Samurian decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Sullens fails to land with a series of punches.
Samurian fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sullens darts in trying to clinch
and Samurian counters with a good, hard body kick but Sullens shrugs it off.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Samurian moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Sullens throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Nice uppercut lands for Samurian. That snapped Sullens's head back.
Sullens stuffs the takedown.
Kennie Sullens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Milo Samurian.

Sullens doesn't manage to clinch there - Samurian circles away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Both fighters circling a little - Sullens finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

and Samurian counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Samurian lands a nice short elbow.
Milo Samurian has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sullens wants to get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that's the end of the fight!
Milo Samurian comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Samurian has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
