Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dexter Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jcb Bowens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Dexter Morgan has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dexter Morgan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jcb Bowens!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowens throws a big shot that misses.
Bowens scores with a jab to the body.
Morgan throws a low kick but Bowens avoids it.
Morgan throws a series of punches but Bowens moves out of range.
Bowens throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
letting Morgan counter with a right hand.
Bowens shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Morgan but Morgan pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Bowens moves out of range of the body kick.

Bowens instigates a clinch.
A short uppercut from Morgan.
Morgan letting Bowens take a breather here.
Morgan wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Bowens has him pressed against the cage.
Morgan gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Bowens.
Bowens stalling the fight.

Bowens drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dexter Morgan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jcb Bowens.
Morgan is trying to force a seperation but Bowens has the dominant position.
Bowens tries for a takedown. No joy.

Bowens breaks from the clinch.

Bowens throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Morgan was covering up waiting for the punch and Bowens finishes the takedown easily into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Bowens sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Bowens's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Morgan is adopting a defensive guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Bowens moves into the clinch successfully.

Bowens breaks from the clinch.

Bowens darts in and clinches Morgan up against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Morgan wants to break the clinch but can't.
Morgan is trying to force a seperation but Bowens has the dominant position.
Bowens is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Morgan pulls him back up using the underhooks.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Morgan lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Bowens breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bowens dodges the punch combination from Morgan.
Bowens is looking to clinch but Morgan is avoiding it.
Bowens misses with a looping left.
Morgan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bowens circles away quickly and effectively.
Bowens is trying hard to land a takedown here. Morgan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Bowens changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Morgan tries to avoid it but Bowens manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Morgan to the ground. Morgan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bowens looks winded!
Morgan moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Morgan scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bowens tries to close the distance and clinch but Morgan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Morgan scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Morgan tries to clinch there but Bowens circles away.
Bowens tries to close the distance and clinch up but Morgan swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bowens looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Bowens moves in looking to clinch but Morgan pushes him off.
A punch combination from Morgan misses.
Morgan is looking to clinch.
Bowens misses with a double jab.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bowens has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Oooooh!!! Morgan has knocked Bowens down with a huge combo! Morgan steps away and waves a wobbly Bowens back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Morgan throws a head kick that misses.
Bowens is still on wobbly legs! Can Morgan finish him?

Morgan gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dexter Morgan dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Bowens scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Bowens seems to have recovered his senses.
Bowens throwing shots but Morgan is blocking nicely.
Bowens thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Morgan's head.
Bowens thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Morgan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Morgan tries to get out of the position.
Morgan wants to get back to his feet.
Bowens throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Morgan is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bowens is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Bowens throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Morgan wants to control but Bowens is keeping busy.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Morgan tries to kick Bowens off but Bowens keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Bowens thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Morgan's head.
Bowens has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bowens connects with a nice short shot to Morgan's temple.
Bowens is trying to control. Morgan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Bowens scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Morgan is not content to let Bowens control the position.
Bowens working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Bowens wants to lay and pray for a moment but Morgan keeps working.

Morgan desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Morgan avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bowens.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bowens wants to lay and pray for a moment but Morgan keeps working.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jcb Bowens.
Morgan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bowens swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Morgan moves into range and clinches up with Bowens.
Bowens drops down looking for an ankle pick but Morgan pulls his leg out and moves away.
Bowens thows a left - swing and a miss!
Morgan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Morgan wants it to stay on the feet.
Bowens fails to land the takedown.
Dexter Morgan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jcb Bowens.
Bowens is breathing heavily.
Bowens gets cracked there but stands up to it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Morgan misses with a double jab.
Bowens shoots for a double leg takedown but Morgan sprawls well. He's pushed Bowens's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jcb Bowens showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Morgan instigates a clinch.

Bowens has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Morgan clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Morgan avoids the strikes from Bowens.
Bowens lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Bowens.
Morgan trying to control the position but Bowens manages to sink in the hooks.
Bowens thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Morgan is in bad spot here.
Bowens throwing damaging strikes from the back! Morgan could be in trouble here!

Bowens biding his time, controlling Morgan.
Bowens is looking to finish with some ground and pound!
Bowens tries to keep control of the position but Morgan is staying busy.

I really don't envy Morgan right now.
Bowens looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Bowens controlling well, preventing Morgan from escaping the position.
Morgan is trying to get back to his feet but Bowens has full control of the position and if anything, Morgan has just worked his way into a worse spot.

What can Morgan do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Bowens misses with an elbow to the head.
Morgan is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Morgan is covering up but some of the strikes from Bowens are getting through and doing damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Morgan is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Morgan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bowens on the ground.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Bowens.
Will Bowens go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Jcb Bowens comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Bowens has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
