Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mark John! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James throws a sloppy head kick and John moves out of range easily. James throws a head kick but John moves out of range.
John shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has James pinned against the cage. James gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. John fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging James to the ground. John is now in James's guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. John chips away with some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. John throws a big right hand that misses. John loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. James knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for John on the ground. John lands a couple of digs. John passes into half guard. John is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so James is just riding it out for now. John eventually gives up the hold. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mark John! Mark John decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
