7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Brasileiro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Nunes! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brasileiro shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Brasileiro showed some decent athleticism there. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Brasileiro looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Brasileiro is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nunes sees it coming and defends easily. Brasileiro is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Brasileiro is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Nunes has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brasileiro is looking for a kimura but Nunes is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Brasileiro to get the leverage. Brasileiro is working for a kimura here but Nunes manages to reverse the position and he's now in Brasileiro's guard.
Brasileiro is working an open guard so Nunes takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Nunes drives through and clinches with Brasileiro against the cage.
Nunes is pressed up against the cage. Brasileiro has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Nunes down to the mat. Nunes avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Nunes takes the fight into the clinch. Nunes drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Brasileiro gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Brasileiro. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nunes turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Nunes manages to end up in side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Brasileiro is looking for a sweep. Nunes lands some shots froms side control. Nunes wants to control but Brasileiro is keeping him busy.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Nunes decides to stand back up. Brasileiro shoots in but Nunes avoids the takedown attempt easily. Brasileiro glances at the clock... BAM! Nunes nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Brasileiro crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Brasileiro is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Antonio Nunes! During a confident post fight interview, Antonio Nunes thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
