Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Diego Del Angel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yu Wi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diego Del Angel has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Diego Del Angel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Yu Wi!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wi drives through with a takedown into Del Angel's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Del Angel manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Del Angel takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Wi tries to hold on but Del Angel pushes him away.
Del Angel sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Del Angel jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Wi manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Del Angel has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

You can see the frustration on Wi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Wi is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Del Angel is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Del Angel is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Del Angel is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wi is just riding it out for now. Del Angel eventually gives up the hold.
Wi won't allow Del Angel to pass to mount.

Still in half guard, Del Angel seems content to control.
Wi is trying to stand back up but Del Angel is controlling him
Del Angel is working for a submission of some sort.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Del Angel tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wi paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Wi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Wi wants to control from the top but Del Angel keeps moving.
Wi looking to sit in guard and control but Del Angel gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Wi is trying to control the position but Del Angel postures up.

Wi pulls Del Angel in close to his closed guard and prevents Del Angel from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Yu Wi wasn't active enough on the ground.
Del Angel is looking to clinch but Wi is avoiding it.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Wi.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wi tries to advance position but instead Del Angel slips a leg back in to half guard.
Wi seems to be looking for submissions.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Del Angel is trying is best to control the position here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Yu Wi will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Wi scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Wi is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Del Angel's half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Del Angel does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Still in half guard, Wi seems content to control.
Wi is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Wi is looking for submissions but instead, Del Angel has regained full guard.

Del Angel is adopting a defensive guard.
Yu Wi has got the better of the ground game so far.
Wi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Wi decides to stand up, so the ref orders Del Angel to his feet.
Del Angel darts in and clinches Wi up against the cage.
Wi has hold of one of Del Angel's legs. Del Angel is fighting the takedown attempt but Wi gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Wi throws a strike but Del Angel rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Del Angel is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Wi trying to keep a closed guard but Del Angel is proving a slippery customer.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Del Angel doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Del Angel manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wi is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Del Angel has his hands clasped together but Wi extends an breaks Del Angel's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Wi.
