Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Dawn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Philips!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dawn shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Philips but Philips pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dawn looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Dawn is looking to clinch.
Jake Dawn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dawn tries to clinch there but Philips circles away.
Dawn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Philips pinned against the cage. Philips gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Philips lands a left and a right that send Dawn crashing to the mat, dazed. Philips thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Jake Dawn has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The referee is keeping an eye on Philips - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Philips continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Philips tries to stall but Dawn uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Paul Philips.
Philips wants to clinch up but Dawn keeps it at a distance.

and Philips counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Dawn on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Well Philips has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
