The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morales lands with a good body shot.

Gauge Thomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thomas shoots in looking for a takedown. Morales tries to sprawl out of it but Thomas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Morales manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gauge Thomas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Morales stuffs the takedown attempt from Thomas. Thomas gets slowly back to his feet.

Thomas closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Morales did well to prevent Thomas getting side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
