Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Cranzinski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Slaughter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cranzinski's entrance music is Aenima. A fine choice. Slaughter has chosen Bulldozer - Goldishack Guerrillas as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steve Cranzinski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Slaughter!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice leg kick lands there from Cranzinski.
Slaughter shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cranzinski defends it nicely.
Slaughter shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Cranzinski counters with a big head kick but Slaughter shrugs it off.
Cranzinski misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Slaughter gets a takedown into half guard.

Cranzinski actively working from the bottom here.

Slaughter is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cranzinski doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Slaughter.
Cranzinski is looking for a sweep. Slaughter is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Cranzinski is trying to control but can't.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Slaughter is trying to work for a kimura but Cranzinski is defending well.

The fighters are battling for position here. Cranzinski manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Cranzinski looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Cranzinski is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Steve Cranzinski will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Slaughter fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cranzinski avoids it really well and circles away.

Steve Cranzinski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josh Slaughter.
Cranzinski thows a body shot but no joy.
Cranzinski throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Slaughter shoots in looking for a takedown. Cranzinski tries to sprawl out of it but Slaughter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cranzinski manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Cranzinski works over Slaughter's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Josh Slaughter has been cut.

Slaughter wants to clinch.
Josh Slaughter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Slaughter is looking to clinch but Cranzinski is avoiding it.
