PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hesher John (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaco Shaco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hesher John!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jaco Shaco!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
John stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and John wants it to stay on the feet.
Shaco closes this distance looking for a takedown but John circles away.
Shaco looks for a takedown but John sprawls well.
Hesher John has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jaco Shaco.

Shaco shoots in looking for a takedown but John manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shaco's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from John enables Shaco to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. John manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

John is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
John wants to stand but Shaco is controlling the position.
John pulls Shaco in close to prevent any damage.

John is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

John had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shaco defends it easily.

Hesher John has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Shaco shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Shaco was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Shaco wants to control but instead John manages to regain half guard.
Shaco with the ground and pound but John uses the opportunity to regain guard.

John is trying to keep Shaco in close.
Shaco trying to control the position from guard on top but John is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jaco Shaco was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Shaco closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shaco lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Shaco should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Shaco.
John throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
John lands with a kick to the temple. Shaco shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
John fails with a takedown attempt.
Shaco wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Shaco shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Shaco showed some decent athleticism there.

John is trying to stand.
Shaco is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and John reverses the position - he's now on top in Shaco's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shaco can do anything to dispel that myth.

Shaco keeping moving, preventing John from controlling successfully.
John throws a big elbow that misses.

John thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
John wants to get up but he can't break Shaco's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

John trying to control the position from guard on top but Shaco is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Hesher John just wasn't active enough.
John shoots for a double leg takedown but Shaco sprawls well. He's pushed John's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Shaco changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. John tries to avoid it but Shaco manages to keep hold of a leg and drag John to the ground. John escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Shaco. No joy for John on that attempt.

Shaco is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Let's hope that Shaco has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Jaco Shaco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
John is looking to clinch but Shaco is avoiding it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Shaco throws a head punch that misses.
John trying to control the position but instead, Shaco has worked for underhooks and has pushed John into the cage.
Shaco is looking to break free of the clinch but John has double underhooks.
John is pressed up against the cage. Shaco has hold of a leg and is looking to drag John down to the mat. John avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

I would just about give that final round to Jaco Shaco.
I've got Shaco winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
