Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Makao Matsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zachery Rey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matsumoto comes to the cage accompanied by Sepultura - Territory . Zachery Rey has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Makao Matsumoto's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Makao Matsumoto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Zachery Rey! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Bruno Lombardi and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Matsumoto moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Rey throws a looping overhand right but Matsumoto ducks down to avoid it. Rey takes a body punch but keeps moving. Left hook, right uppercut from Rey.
It looks like Makao Matsumoto has been cut. Matsumoto takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Matsumoto throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Rey throws a lazy right hand but Matsumoto sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Matsumoto looks to throw the jab but Rey is out of range. Matsumoto stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rey. Rey rushes Matsumoto and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rey lands a knee to the head.
Matsumoto tries to pull guard but Rey holds him up against the cage and eventually Matsumoto drops back down to his feet.

Rey is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Matsumoto tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Rey's elbow. Rey misses with an elbow over the top. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rey tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Matsumoto blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Rey. Rey prevents a body shot from Matsumoto. Matsumoto has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rey avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Matsumoto lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Rey as Matsumoto tries to tie him up. Come on Matsumoto - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Matsumoto will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Rey up against the cage. Rey trying to control the position but instead, Matsumoto has worked for underhooks and has pushed Rey into the cage. Rey makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Rey lands on the inside with an uppercut. Rey lands a knee to the head.
Rey gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Rey is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Rey comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rey throws a knee to the head but misses.

Matsumoto lands an overhand right. Rey tries to clinch there but Matsumoto circles away.
Rey fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Matsumoto checks it well. Rey misses with a low kick. Matsumoto misses the shot to the body. Rey throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Matsumoto counters with a straight right hand. Matsumoto swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rey works Matsumoto's body with a nice hook. Rey misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Matsumoto loads up on a big right hand but Rey slips the punch. Rey walks into a stiff left hand from Matsumoto.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rey throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Matsumoto connects with a single shot there. Matsumoto scores with a jab to the body. Some wild striking there from Rey.
Rey misses with a double jab.
Rey looks to score with a jab to the body but Matsumoto is just out of range. Matsumoto moves out of range of the strikes. Matsumoto avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Matsumoto shoots for a double leg takedown but Rey sprawls well. He's pushed Matsumoto's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Matsumoto misses with a hook. Rey ducked under it nicely. Zachery Rey is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rey moves in looking to clinch but Matsumoto pushes him off. Matsumoto circles away from the clinch attempt and Matsumoto counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Matsumoto throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Matsumoto cracks a nice hook into Rey's ribs. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rey ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Zachery Rey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rey throws a series of punches but Matsumoto avoids them all with ease. Matsumoto throws a hook but Rey avoids it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Matsumoto fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Rey on the side of the head. Rey swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Matsumoto cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Matsumoto on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rey. Rey obviously looking to wear him down.
Rey cracks the inside of Matsumoto's front leg. Rey throws a nice outside leg kick. An inside leg kick from Rey misses. Rey swings for the body but Matsumoto moves out of range.
Rey scores with a hook. Matsumoto lands with a nice body punch. A big right from Matsumoto misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rey staying out of range there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Matsumoto looking to score a takedown here. Rey is defending well but Matsumoto drives through and ends up in Rey's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Matsumoto wants to control from the top but Rey keeps moving. Matsumoto loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Matsumoto trying to control but Rey is working from the bottom. Matsumoto wants to pass the guard but Rey is keeping the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Matsumoto is fighting to break Rey's control of his arms but Rey is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Makao Matsumoto dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Makao Matsumoto's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Sloppy strikes from Rey. Those never looked like landing. Matsumoto tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rey was well out of range. Poor timing from Matsumoto. Matsumoto misses with a body shot
and Rey cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Matsumoto throws an overhand right that lands on Rey's shoulder, as Rey tries to avoid the shot. Matsumoto fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rey manages to avoid it. Matsumoto defending well as Rey loads up on a big left hand. Matsumoto throws a body punch but Rey moves out of range. Matsumoto misses with a wild body shot. Matsumoto throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Rey.
That's one minute gone in the round. Matsumoto fails with a takedown attempt. Rey keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Rey, right into the meat.
Matsumoto shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rey as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Makao Matsumoto. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rey throws a leg kick which misses Matsumoto's front leg but catches the back leg as Matsumoto tries to avoid it. Rey cracks Matsumoto with an open hand slap. Matsumoto misses with a hook
letting Rey counter with a right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rey chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Matsumoto dives in and grabs Rey's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rey pushes down on Matsumoto's head and hops out. Both fighters are breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rey doesn't manage to clinch there - Matsumoto circles away.

Rey is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Matsumoto like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Matsumoto from another fist facial!
