Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Random Task! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonathan Hall! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hall jabs Task right on the nose. Task blinks but takes it well. Task scores with a sloppy right hand. Hall should have avoided that one. Task uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hall. Hall throws a hook but Task blocks it. Hall scores with a sloppy right hand. Task should have avoided that one. Hall lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. A big right from Task misses. Task misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hall.
Jonathan Hall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Task moves away from the strike by Hall. Task throws a jab but it's blocked by Hall. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hall drives through with a takedown into guard. Hall slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Task is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Task is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hall is looking to take a break and control but Task is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hall prevents Task from escaping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hall throws a strike aimed at the side of Task's head but Task avoids it well. Hall cracks Task with an elbow. That is naaassty. Task is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Task is trying to control Hall's posture but Hall avoids it. Task wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Hall trying to control the action but Task is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hall is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Task looks calm but he's in trouble here. Hall gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Task is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Hall lets go of the hold and Task can pop his arm back in it's socket.
