Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eli Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrei Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cote will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A combination from Cote does no damage.
Cote throws a right and a left that Smith avoids nicely.
Cote throws a left and a right that both miss

and Smith counters with a shoot takedown. Cote fights it but they end up in guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Smith throwing strikes from guard but Cote blocks nicely.
Smith trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Cote wants to get back to his feet but Smith is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Cote really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Smith postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Smith throws a big right hand that misses.
Smith throws an elbow that misses. Cote uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Smith's guard. Nice move by Cote!

Smith had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cote defends it easily.

Cote is posturing up here but Smith has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Cote tries to roll out but it's too tight and Cote has to tap! Slick submission there by Smith!
