The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skillz tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Doran counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Doran throws a big right hand that misses.
Doran throws a big elbow that misses.
Doran stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Skillz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Doran chips away with some ground and pound.
Doran content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Skillz not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Doran decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Skillz, up you get!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Skillz closes the distance but Doran moves to the side

and Doran counters by clinching up.
Skillz is trying to pull guard but Doran has him pressed against the cage.
Doran has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Doran pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Wesley Doran seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Skillz darts in trying to clinch

and Doran counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Skillz!

Skillz defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Doran.

Skillz is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Doran scores with a couple of good head shots there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Doran fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Skillz is looking to get to half guard.

Doran lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Skillz is trying to control but can't.
Skillz makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Skillz.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Doran connects with a couple of short punches.

Doran has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Skillz to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Doran is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Skillz pulls down on the head and he's put Doran to sleep! This one is all over!
