1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wesley Reaper! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reaper clinches up with Helmsley and pushes him back against the cage. Reaper is defending well against a takedown attempt. Helmsley really is a fat lump. Reaper breaks the clinch.
Reaper moves into the clinch successfully.
Reaper has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Helmsley uses from the top position. Helmsley pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Reaper is keeping the position for now. Reaper is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Helmsley scoring with some ground and pound. Reaper manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Helmsley manages to get himself to full guard.

Helmsley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Helmsley wants to sweep but no luck. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Helmsley is working hard here to advance position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Helmsley is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Reaper is looking to improve his position.
