Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Maciejewski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Maciejewski might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Strokes - Hard To Explain. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kyle Maciejewski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Peters! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peters is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Maciejewski shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Peters as he avoids it easily. Maciejewski shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Peters but Peters pushes him off and we're back to square one. Maciejewski swats away the attempt to clinch by Peters. Peters throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Maciejewski. Peters gets caught napping as Maciejewski dives in and scores a takedown. Peters manages to retain guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Maciejewski looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Maciejewski seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Peters for as long as he can get away with.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kyle Maciejewski. Maciejewski feints and as Peters raises his hands in defense, Maciejewski changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Maciejewski looking to pass the guard. We're going to have a standup here because Kyle Maciejewski wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Peters defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Maciejewski. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyle Maciejewski. That's going to take a lot out of him. Maciejewski tries for a takedown but Peters sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Peters is trying hard to land a takedown here. Maciejewski sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Peters displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Maciejewski. Peters shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Maciejewski feints and as Peters raises his hands in defense, Maciejewski changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The ref stands the fighters back up. Kyle Maciejewski wasn't doing enough on the ground. Nice sprawl there from Peters as Maciejewski shoots in. Peters lands a front kick. Peters shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Maciejewski eats them both and turns towards Peters to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Peters misses with a hook. Maciejewski ducked under it nicely. Maciejewski circles away from the clinch attempt.
Maciejewski shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Maciejewski closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Peters is trying to stand up here but Maciejewski is controlling him well. Peters is looking to control Maciejewski's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Peters avoid being mounted? Peters looks gassed! The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Peters has his hands clasped together around Maciejewski's back. He's all about the action.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Peters misses with a double jab.
Maciejewski throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Peters was covering up waiting for the punch and Maciejewski finishes the takedown easily into guard. Peters can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Maciejewski controls the pace. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Maciejewski slips nicely into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peters throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Peters is defended easily by Maciejewski. Maciejewski shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Peters sprawls well. Peters wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Maciejewski gets slowly back to his feet. Maciejewski shoots in for a takedown but Peters shows good takedown defense. Maciejewski tries to score a power double leg takedown but Peters sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Maciejewski somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyle Maciejewski. That's going to take a lot out of him. Peters tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Maciejewski manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Peters shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Maciejewski as he jumps to the side. Maciejewski closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Peters's guard. Peters working a defensive guard but Maciejewski passes into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maciejewski content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Maciejewski is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Peters! Peters is breathing heavily. Maciejewski controlling the position easily from mount. Peters is bucking up trying to escape but Maciejewski cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maciejewski with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Peters in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Peters really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maciejewski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Maciejewski has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Peters's face.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Peters can do anything to dispel that myth.

Maciejewski with the ground and pound from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Peters regains half guard. Maciejewski performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Maciejewski connects with a nice short shot to Peters's temple. Maciejewski is controlling the pace.

He's almost out here... but no, Maciejewski gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Maciejewski passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Peters! Maciejewski controlling his opponent. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Maciejewski cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Maciejewski takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Maciejewski looking to secure an arm triangle but Peters defends it well. Maciejewski has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Peters is bucking up trying to escape but Maciejewski cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

It looks like Jason Peters has been cut. Maciejewski tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Maciejewski's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
