The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigues throws a big shot that misses.
Lopez shoots in and drives through. Rodrigues sprawls well.
Rodrigues slips under a jab from Lopez.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rodrigues is on top in guard.

Rodrigues is looking to clinch but Lopez is avoiding it.

Lopez closes the distance and clinches up with Rodrigues, looking for a takedown. Lopez pushes Rodrigues against the cage but Rodrigues circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Rodrigues is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Rodrigues leaves Lopez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Rodrigues throws a lazy right hand but Lopez sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Rodrigues cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rodrigues tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rodrigues lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Lopez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Lopez's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rodrigues connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Lopez scrambles back to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rodrigues cracks Lopez with a hook to the temple - Lopez is on wobbly legs here! Rodrigues swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Lopez falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Rodrigues wins by TKO!

After winning the bout, Fabricio Rodrigues thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
