The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Kavanagh and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ritter connects with a crisp jab.
Ritter fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Silva, pushing him back against the cage.
Ritter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt
and Ritter counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Silva might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Ritter got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ritter has managed to get both his arms back between Silva's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ritter avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Ritter is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Silva's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Silva's back!
Ritter has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Silva has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Ritter is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Silva is defending well though. Ritter let's go of the attempt for now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Icarus Ritter dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Silva tries for a takedown but Ritter circles away easily
and Ritter moves into the clinch.
Ritter breaks the clinch.
Ritter clinches.
Ritter tries to break the clinch but Silva is controlling the position.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Ritter manages to break the clinch.
Ritter closes the distance and clinches.
Come on Ritter - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Ritter is trying to force a seperation but Silva has the dominant position.
Ritter breaks from the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva avoids the head kick by Ritter.
Silva gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ritter counters with a head kick that drops Silva to the mat! Silva scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ritter displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Silva.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chael Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ritter counters with a nice body kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ritter gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Ritter breaks the clinch.
Ritter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ritter fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Silva has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Silva with a lazy takedown attempt
and Ritter counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Ritter postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Silva covers up, he's hurt! Ritter keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Ritter and the ref steps in to end the fight! Ritter can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Icarus Ritter!
A very excited looking Icarus Ritter rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
