Johnson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Brothers Johnson - Get The Funk Out Of My Face. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrew Summer!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Summer shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Johnson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Summer pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Summer is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Summer is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Johnson is pressing down on Summer's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Johnson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Summer is controlling him.

Johnson has his foot on Summer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Summer works his way back into a safe position though.

Summer thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Johnson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Summer is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Johnson.
Johnson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Summer asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Summer looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Summer is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Johnson defends it well.

Johnson is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Summer jumps into side control!
Johnson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Summer has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Summer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Summer goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Johnson rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Summer's guard! Nice work there by Johnson!

Johnson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Johnson stands and throws Summer's legs to the side, diving into side control.

A close round but Andrew Summer will probably get the nod.
That's time! Johnson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Summer drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Summer moves out of range of the leg kick from Johnson.

Johnson rushes Summer and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Johnson takes the fight into the clinch.
Johnson makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Johnson tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Summer's elbow.
Johnson works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Summer blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Summer trying to stall but Johnson improves his position.
Johnson lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Summer backwards.
Johnson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Summer gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Summer tries to throw a body punch but Johnson avoids it by throwing Summer back against the cage.

Summer trying to stall but Johnson improves his position.
Summer has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Johnson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Johnson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Johnson drives through with a takedown into Summer's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Summer tries to bench press Johnson off him but Johnson keeps the position.
Johnson tries to move into full mount but can't pass Summer's legs.
Johnson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Johnson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Summer keeps working.
You can see the frustration on Summer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Summer is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Johnson stands up.
Summer closes the distance and clinches up with Johnson, looking for a takedown. Summer pushes Johnson against the cage but Johnson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
John Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Summer.
Johnson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Johnson connects with a body shot.
Summer closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Summer has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Summer there as he acknowledges the shot.
Johnson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Summer.

Summer takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Johnson throws a body punch but Summer moves out of range.
Summer shoots in looking for a takedown but Johnson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Summer's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Summer is breathing heavily.
Summer tries to reverse the position but Johnson maintains control.

Johnson is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Summer is rocked!
Johnson is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Summer is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Johnson just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Summer has gone limp and this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). John Johnson!
A very excited looking John Johnson made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
