Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oleg Alekseev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bob Probert!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alekseev throws a hook but Probert blocks it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Alekseev is defended easily by Probert.
Probert slips a straight right by Alekseev.
Alekseev swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Probert with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Alekseev to score with a decent uppercut.
It looks like Bob Probert has been cut.
Alekseev shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Alekseev was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Poor strikes thrown by Alekseev there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Alekseev unloads with some shots from mount but Probert bucks and avoids them well.
Alekseev misses with a head shot.
Alekseev connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Alekseev raining down shots from the mount!
Alekseev lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
That has opened up Bob Probert's cut even more.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Alekseev lands a big elbow.
The cut above Bob Probert's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Probert really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alekseev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Probert is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Alekseev is landing with some decent strikes but Probert is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Bob Probert's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Bob Probert's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Oleg Alekseev!
Post fight, Oleg Alekseev took to the microphone: 'This is my belt!'.
