Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bobandy Randy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alek Krushnov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bobandy Randy could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Alek Krushnov's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bobandy Randy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alek Krushnov!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Randy tries for a takedown but Krushnov circles away easily

and Krushnov counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Randy's guard now.
Randy trying to keep a closed guard but Krushnov is proving a slippery customer.

Krushnov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Randy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Krushnov has managed to get both his arms back between Randy's legs - danger averted.
Randy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Randy controls Krushnov momentarily but Krushnov frees himself.

Krushnov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Krushnov is working for a submission of some sort.
Randy wants to get back to full guard.

Krushnov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Randy is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Krushnov decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Krushnov stuffs the takedown.

Randy shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Randy is breathing heavily.
Krushnov makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Krushnov.
Krushnov wants to sweep but no luck.

Randy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Krushnov works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Randy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Randy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Krushnov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Randy is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Krushnov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Krushnov is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Krushnov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Randy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Krushnov.
Krushnov seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Krushnov decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Randy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Krushnov was covering up waiting for the punch and Randy finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Randy wants to control from the top but Krushnov keeps moving.
Krushnov seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Alek Krushnov hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Randy dives in and grabs Krushnov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Krushnov pushes down on Randy's head and hops out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Krushnov drops back, looking for a kneebar! Randy looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Randy looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Randy!
Krushnov can't do much from the bottom here.
Krushnov is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Randy is staying active.
Krushnov sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Krushnov is controlling Randy's trapped leg to prevent Randy from advancing to side control.

Krushnov is pressing down on Randy's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Krushnov lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Randy!

Krushnov is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Krushnov closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Randy to the mat! Randy manages to get full guard.

Randy misses with a takedown attempt - Krushnov sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Bobandy Randy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Krushnov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
