Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Angel Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Balboa's choice of entrance music: Radioactive. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rocky Balboa! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balboa bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Balboa stands up and we're back to a striking position. A nice combination there by Balboa.
Ramirez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Balboa. Balboa throws a sloppy head kick and Ramirez moves out of range easily. Ramirez fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Balboa sprawls well initially but Ramirez persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Balboa is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ramirez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ramirez's back! Ramirez trying to control the action but Balboa just sinks the hooks in. Balboa is hanging on to Ramirez's back as he tries to escape.
Balboa is trying to stick to Ramirez's back but Ramirez is turning into Balboa. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Balboa's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Ramirez. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Balboa wants to stand and escape but Ramirez is having none of it. Ramirez throws an elbow that misses. Balboa uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ramirez's guard. Nice move by Balboa! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Balboa throws a big right hand that misses. Balboa thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Balboa trying to control the position from guard on top but Ramirez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ramirez controls Balboa momentarily but Balboa frees himself. Balboa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ramirez is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Balboa is aware though and is defending well. Balboa preventing the sweep. Ramirez tries to strike from the bottom.

Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ramirez prevents Balboa from getting back to his feet. Ramirez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Balboa is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ramirez, into his guard. Ramirez is looking to sweep but instead, Balboa has passed into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ramirez throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Balboa seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Ramirez tries to lock up and control but Balboa gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Ramirez is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Balboa is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Ramirez is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Balboa throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Ramirez because Balboa loaded up on that one. Ramirez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ramirez tries to get out of the position. Balboa goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Ramirez turns into him and now he's in Balboa's guard.
Ramirez with a nice head shot there. Ramirez connects with a couple of short punches. Ramirez is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Ramirez works over Balboa with some ground and pound from guard. Ramirez connects with a nice short shot to Balboa's temple. Balboa is staying active underneath Ramirez, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ramirez prevents Balboa from improving his position. Ramirez sitting and controlling from the half guard. Ramirez lands strikes from half guard. Balboa is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Balboa is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Ramirez drops an elbow to the side of Balboa's head. Angel Ramirez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ramirez is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Ramirez working Balboa over with strikes. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ramirez lands a nice short elbow. Ramirez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Balboa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ramirez takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ramirez lands a nice short elbow.
Balboa is rocked! Ramirez slips a nice elbow through Balboa's hands, connecting with Balboa's forehead. Balboa is still in real trouble! Can Ramirez finish him? Ramirez looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Ramirez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ramirez is looking for a kimura here.

Ramirez postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Balboa on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Balboa doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
