Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Thacker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Spoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, James Spoon!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thacker moves in looking to clinch but Spoon pushes him off.
Spoon fails to land the takedown.
Thacker has Spoon up against the cage in a clinch.
Thacker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Spoon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Thacker .
Spoon shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Thacker is refusing to be controlled, as Spoon sits in half guard.
Spoon throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Still in half guard, Spoon seems content to control.

Spoon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Thacker does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Thacker shoots in looking for a takedown. Spoon tries to sprawl out of it but Thacker keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Spoon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Thacker shoots in for a double leg but Spoon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Spoon tries to bum rush Thacker with a series of wild strikes but Thacker uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Spoon tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Thacker manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Thacker crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Spoon - the referee stops the clock and Thacker gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Spoon. Thacker manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Spoon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Thacker throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Spoon was covering up waiting for the punch and Thacker finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Thacker has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Spoon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Thacker manages to get himself to full guard.

Thacker shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Spoon as he jumps to the side.

Horrible takedown by Spoon or perhaps it was just good defense by Thacker which made him look bad.

Thacker throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Spoon's waist but Spoon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thacker off to one side.

Spoon ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Spoon no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Thacker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Spoon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Spoon pulls Thacker in close to his closed guard and prevents Thacker from doing any damage or advancing position.

Thacker throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Spoon stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Thacker tries to score a power double leg takedown but Spoon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Thacker somewhat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Thacker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Spoon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spoon tries to free his leg and advance position but Thacker is retaining full guard.
James Thacker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
James Spoon is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
