The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vught tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Black decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Vught's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Black works over Vught with some ground and pound from guard.
Vught is trying to keep Black in close.
Black postures up and lands a big shot to Vught's brow.
Vught preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Black trying to control but Vught is working from the bottom.
Vught wants to get back to his feet but Black passes into half guard.

Vught won't allow Black to pass to mount.
Vught really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Black. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Black thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vught can do anything to dispel that myth.

Black slips a nice elbow through Vught's hands, connecting with Vught's forehead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That has opened up Saba Vught's cut even more.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Black is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Vught defends it well.
This has been an exciting period of action!
