The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendes tries to clinch but Frantz moves out of range.
Frantz throws a sloppy head kick and Mendes moves out of range easily.
Frantz gets a clinch.
Frantz gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Mendes regains guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Frantz gets to his feet. Mendes looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Frantz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Frantz tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mendes knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Mendes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Frantz swivels and escapes.
Mendes gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Frantz passes Mendes's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Frantz is looking to advance position but Mendes won't allow it.
Frantz wants to stand but Mendes has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Frantz has closed the distance and engaged Mendes in a clinch.
Frantz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Frantz lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Frantz fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mendes to the ground. Frantz is now in Mendes's guard.
Frantz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mendes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Frantz throwing strikes from guard but Mendes blocks nicely.

Frantz is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Frantz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dimolina Frantz was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Frantz shoots in and bounces Mendes off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Frantz wants to control from the top but Mendes keeps moving.
Frantz has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mendes is proving hard to escape from.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dimolina Frantz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Mendes fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Frantz avoids it really well and circles away.
Frantz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Frantz seems to be working for a kimura but Mendes defends the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Frantz winds up and cracks Mendes with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Mendes is not content to let Frantz control the position.
Frantz tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Frantz frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Mendes keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Frantz with shots to the head and body - Mendes looks very uncomfortable down there.

Frantz connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Frantz tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Dimolina Frantz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Frantz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
