Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kift Slaai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slaai is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: legend. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mike Hayes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kift Slaai! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Josh West.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slaai dives in and scores a takedown into Hayes's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Slaai is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Hayes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Slaai on the ground. Hayes has Slaai pulled in close to control his posture. Slaai trying to control but Hayes is working from the bottom. Slaai trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Slaai is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Slaai stands and steps away. Hayes gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Slaai gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Hayes decides to pull guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Hayes is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Slaai trying to control the position from guard on top but Hayes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hayes is trying to control the position but Slaai postures up.
Hayes has his foot on Slaai's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Slaai works his way back into a safe position though. Slaai controls from within his opponent's guard. Slaai wants to control from the top but Hayes keeps moving. Hayes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
 The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kift Slaai wasn't active enough on the ground. Slaai shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hayes but Hayes pushes him off and we're back to square one.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Slaai shoots for a double leg takedown but Hayes sprawls well. He's pushed Slaai's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hayes instigates a clinch.
Hayes lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Slaai keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Hayes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hayes is trying to control the action in half guard but Slaai is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Slaai avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hayes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Slaai has his hands clasped together around Hayes's back. He's all about the action.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Hayes is taking a breather. Slaai says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
 The ref stands the fighters back up because Mike Hayes just wasn't active enough.
Hayes feints and as Slaai raises his hands in defense, Hayes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Hayes looking to pass the guard. Hayes missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hayes trying to control but Slaai is working from the bottom. Hayes tries to stand but Slaai is controlling from the bottom. Hayes is breathing heavily.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Slaai controlling the position.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mike Hayes.
Slaai gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Slaai lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hayes! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hayes is squirming around, avoiding Slaai's attempts to control the action. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mike Hayes will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Slaai throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hayes defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Slaai.
Slaai shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Slaai was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Slaai wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Hayes is trying desperately to improve position. Slaai controlling from mount. Hayes looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
 That's one minute gone in the round. Hayes tries to escape the position.
Slaai is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Hayes has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Slaai trying to control momentarily.
Kift Slaai has got the better of the ground game so far. Hayes looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Slaai wants to control but Hayes is keeping busy.
Slaai is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Slaai is breathing heavily. Slaai is looking to control Hayes but Hayes is wriggling around and keeping busy. Slaai is trying to stick to Hayes's back but Hayes is turning into Slaai. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Slaai's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Hayes. Slaai seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Slaai is looking to sweep but instead, Hayes has passed into half guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Slaai is refusing to be controlled, as Hayes sits in half guard. Hayes scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Slaai throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Hayes with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Hayes lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Hayes wants to control but Slaai is keeping him busy.
 That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hayes is trying to work for a kimura but Slaai is defending well.
Hayes wants to pass the guard but Slaai is defending well. Slaai gets back to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Slaai not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Kift Slaai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Hayes explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Hayes wants to land a leg kick but Slaai is out of range. Slaai tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hayes sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Slaai somewhat.
Hayes scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Hayes tries to advance to mount but can't. Slaai sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Slaai looking for submissions off his back. Slaai takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hayes controlling the action here.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Hayes slips a nice elbow through Slaai's hands, connecting with Slaai's forehead. Hayes wants to free his trapped foot but Slaai is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Hayes is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Hayes blocks the strikes from Slaai.
Slaai is looking to improve his position.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Hayes is trying to control the action in half guard but Slaai is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Hayes thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Slaai's head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Slaai trying to control here.
Hayes is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Slaai doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hayes. Slaai regains full guard. Nicely done.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Slaai controlling Hayes's posture. Hayes wanted to stand there but Slaai had control of the position.
Slaai working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Hayes has passed into half guard!
Hayes throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Slaai moves into full guard.
Slaai wants to stand but Hayes is controlling the position. Hayes advances position into side control!
Hayes stands up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hayes throws a right and a left that Slaai avoids nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! Mike Hayes showed his dominance in that final round. Well Hayes has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
