Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Colby Bohannan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jase Chapman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jase Chapman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Colby Bohannan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jase Chapman!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Ivan Kurochkin and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chapman has his takedown stuffed

so Bohannan counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bohannan sitting in guard here, content to control.
Chapman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bohannan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Bohannan gets to his feet - Chapman follows without any prompting.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Chapman has eaten all the pies!

Bohannan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Chapman sprawls well initially but Bohannan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Bohannan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bohannan is taking a breather. Chapman says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Bohannan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Chapman for as long as he can get away with.

Bohannan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Bohannan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Chapman is pressing down on Bohannan's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Bohannan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Chapman moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Chapman misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bohannan.

Bohannan decides to stand up, so the ref orders Chapman to his feet.
Chapman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bohannan sprawls well. Bohannan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Chapman gets slowly back to his feet.

Chapman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Chapman wants it to stay on the feet.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


No luck with that takedown attempt from Chapman.
Bohannan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bohannan throws a left and a right that both miss

and Chapman counters with a shoot takedown. Bohannan fights it but they end up in guard.
Bohannan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chapman manages to get himself to full guard.

Chapman is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Bohannan dives into side control.

Colby Bohannan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bohannan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bohannan tries to advance to mount but Chapman denies him.

Chapman is trying to get back to half guard.
Chapman takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Chapman takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Chapman is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Chapman is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Bohannan advances to mount.
Chapman wants to get back to his feet.
Bohannan controlling the position easily from mount.
Chapman is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Bohannan seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Chapman is holding on tight.
Bohannan is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Chapman can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chapman tries to lock up and control but Bohannan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Colby Bohannan will probably get the nod.
That's time! Bohannan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Bohannan rushes Chapman and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Chapman has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Bohannan misses with an elbow strike.
Chapman has had enough of the clinch but Bohannan keeps him there for the moment.
Bohannan is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Chapman drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Chapman wants the takedown. Bohannan is fighting it off but Chapman persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Bohannan's guard against the cage.

Bohannan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Chapman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bohannan stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Chapman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Bohannan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Chapman fails with the takedown.
Bohannan fails to land with a series of punches.

Bohannan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Chapman did well to prevent Bohannan getting side control.
Chapman wants to get back to full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bohannan lands a nice short elbow.
Bohannan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Chapman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Bohannan slips a nice elbow through Chapman's hands, connecting with Chapman's forehead.
Chapman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bohannan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bohannan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Chapman with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Chapman is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bohannan pulls his head out easily.
Chapman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bohannan controlling the pace.
Chapman looks like he's trying to stand up.
Chapman makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Chapman.

Bohannan stands and steps away. Chapman gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Bohannan has taken the fight to the clinch.
Bohannan tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Chapman just stands there and leans against the cage.

Chapman drags the fight down to the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Chapman is on top in guard.
Bohannan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chapman manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bohannan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Jase Chapman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Chapman throws his legs up looking for a submission but Bohannan uses it to pass to side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Colby Bohannan showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Bohannan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
