Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mathew Dean! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jason Mayhem! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dean tries to clinch but Mayhem moves out of range. Dean lands with a good body shot. Jason Mayhem seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mayhem shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mayhem showed some decent athleticism there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Mayhem is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Mayhem is looking for a kimura but Dean is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mayhem to get the leverage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mayhem looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Mayhem wants to control but Dean is keeping him busy. Mayhem looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Mayhem is thwarting Dean's attempts to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dean is trying to stand up here but Mayhem is controlling him well. Mayhem trying to control the action but Dean is working from the bottom. Dean is looking to control Mayhem's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dean avoid being mounted?
We're going to have a standup here because Mathew Dean wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Mayhem scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Mayhem is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Mayhem is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dean defends it well.

This could be trouble! No, Mayhem has managed to free his arm - good work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jason Mayhem will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Dean scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Dean is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mayhem is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Dean goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Mayhem has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Dean but great work by Mayhem. Dean is not content to let Mayhem control the position. Dean wants to control but Mayhem postures up. Jason Mayhem has got the better of the ground game so far. Mayhem looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mathew Dean. Dean tries to clinch up but Mayhem circles away and keeps his distance. Mayhem scores with a takedown into Dean's guard. Mayhem wants to pass the guard but Dean is keeping the position. Mayhem trying to control the position from guard on top but Dean is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mayhem drops back looking for a leg! Dean is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dean manages to kick Mayhem off! Mayhem jumps back into Dean's guard. Dean trying to keep a closed guard but Mayhem is proving a slippery customer.
Mathew Dean has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mayhem not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Dean keeping full guard, as Mayhem tries to pass. Dean not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Dean looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Dean is trying to control the position but Mayhem postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A momentary lapse in concentration from Dean enables Mayhem to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dean manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Mayhem takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Dean is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Mayhem trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mayhem drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dean dives on top into guard. Dean missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Dean is looking to stand up but Mayhem won't let him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dean wants to pass the guard but Mayhem is keeping the position. Dean wanted to stand there but Mayhem had control of the position. Mayhem working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dean doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dean manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dean postures up in Mayhem's guard and throws a big left but Mayhem blocks it.
And that's the end of the fight! Jason Mayhem comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Mayhem winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
