Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Naoto Sugawara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tallak Hrolf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sugawara's entrance music is Eye Of The Tiger. A fine choice. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Tallak Hrolf enters the cage!

The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good leg kick by Hrolf there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Sugawara misses with a right hand

so Hrolf counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Sugawara is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Hrolf scoring with some ground and pound.

It looks like Naoto Sugawara has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hrolf trying to control the position from guard on top but Sugawara is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hrolf has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hrolf accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hrolf throws a strike but Sugawara rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Sugawara won't allow Hrolf to get back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Hrolf throws a body punch but Sugawara moves out of range.

Hrolf shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sugawara defends it nicely.

Sugawara drives through and clinches with Hrolf against the cage.
Sugawara tries to throw a body punch but Hrolf avoids it by throwing Sugawara back against the cage.

Hrolf can't get the takedown.

Hrolf escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Sugawara counters with a good low kick that Hrolf was not able to check.
Sugawara tries to land a leg kick but Hrolf saw it coming and moves away.
Hrolf doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sugawara. Hrolf does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hrolf fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Naoto Sugawara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tallak Hrolf .
Hrolf shoots in looking for a takedown. Sugawara tries to sprawl out of it but Hrolf keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sugawara manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sugawara ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hrolf moves away.

Sugawara's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hrolf connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Sugawara scrambles back to his feet.

Naoto Sugawara's cut is getting worse.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sugawara connects with a solid leg kick.
Hrolf takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Sugawara displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hrolf throws out the jab.
Sugawara tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

A clash of legs there as Hrolf blocks the low kick.
Hrolf shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sugawara throws an overhand right that lands on Hrolf 's shoulder, as Hrolf tries to avoid the shot.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hrolf moves out of range as Sugawara strikes.
Hrolf stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Sugawara.

Tallak Hrolf dominated that round.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hrolf chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sugawara can pounce on him.
Sugawara doesn't manage to clinch there - Hrolf circles away.
Sugawara lands a glancing blow to the side of Hrolf 's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tallak Hrolf seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sugawara ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Sugawara is looking to wear down Hrolf with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Sugawara fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
A punch lands to the side of Hrolf 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Sugawara leaves Hrolf with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Sugawara lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Hrolf doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Hrolf fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sugawara keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Sugawara is looking to clinch but Hrolf is avoiding it.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Sugawara here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Sugawara swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hrolf .
Sugawara attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Hrolf has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Sugawara.

Hrolf is rocked!

Sugawara lands a big uppercut and Hrolf crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Hrolf looks OK. Sugawara waves Hrolf back to his feet!

The referee calls for Sugawara to work.
Hrolf 's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Sugawara drops Hrolf onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Hrolf is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Hrolf is trying to break the clinch but Sugawara is controlling him.
Sugawara pushes Hrolf against the cage. Sugawara is working some dirty boxing. Sugawara pushes off with a quick right hook! Hrolf goes down! Hrolf tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Sugawara moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
