Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howes keeps the fight on the outside.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mutters looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mutters tries to clinch there but Howes circles away.
Howes slips a straight right by Mutters.
Mutters throws a looping overhand right but Howes ducks down to avoid it.
Mutters moves in looking to clinch but Howes pushes him off.
Howes misses with a body kick.

Mutters clinches up against the cage.
Mutters is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Mutters scores with a nice hook to the head.
Mutters lands with a short shot to the head.
A short uppercut from Mutters.
Mutters lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Howes backwards.
Mutters is trying to push Howes away but Howes has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Mutters breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mutters tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Howes paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Mutters is looking to clinch but Howes is avoiding it.

Mutters ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Howes swats away the attempt to clinch by Mutters.
Mutters cracks Howes with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Mutters gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Mutters gets through Howes's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Mutters lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Mutters throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Howess head.
Howes drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mutters gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Mick Mutters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephen Howes.
Mutters lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Mutters wants to break the clinch but can't.
Mutters scores with a shot to the side of Howes's head.
Howes misses with a short punch on the inside.
Howes is trying to break the clinch but Mutters has him pressed against the cage.
Still in the clinch, Mutters scores with a nice short uppercut.

Howes tries to score a body lock takedown but Mutters shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Mutters lands a hook that snaps the head of Howes backwards.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Mutters creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.


Howes is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Mutters breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Mutters clinches.
Mutters lands with a light punch inside.
Howes goes for a takedown attempt but Mutters pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Mutters tries to clinch but Howes is having none of it.
A nice combination there by Mutters.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mutters tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Mutters darts in and clinches Howes up against the cage.

Mutters breaks from the clinch.
Howes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mutters is fending him off so far but Howes persists. Nope, Mutters circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mick Mutters dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Howes closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Howes staying calm.

Howes is trying to get an arm triangle but Mutters is defending well.
Mutters is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Howes is controlling him well.

Howes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mutters keeps working.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Mutters tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Mutters knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Howes on the ground.
Mutters looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

Howes is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Mutters is tapping out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Stephen Howes!
After the fight, Stephen Howes was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
