Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hitmon Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Nogueira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ricardo Nogueira told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hitmon Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

25 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Nogueira!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Matheus Silva and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Good exchange - Lee coming out on top.
Lee connects with a nice looking jab.
Lee tries a head kick but it misses.
Lee fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Nogueira.
Lee uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Nogueira.
Nogueira tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lee paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nogueira missing with a left hand there. Lee was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A big right from Nogueira misses.
Lee shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lee throws a quick inside leg kick.
Lee looks to score with a jab to the body but Nogueira is just out of range.
Lee tries to clinch up.
Lee takes a swing at Nogueira's ribcage but misses.
Nogueira throws a lazy right hand but Lee sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lee throws a punch but it's blocked by Nogueira.
Lee goes for a takedown in the clinch but Nogueira prevents it.

Nogueira throws a nice looking combination but Lee bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Lee counters with a lovely straight right hand!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lee bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A nice inside leg kick there by Lee. That's going to slow Nogueira down.

Lee is looking to score with low kicks.
Nogueira tries to clinch but Lee moves out of range.
Nogueira lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lee circles away quickly and effectively.

Lee fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nogueira manages to avoid it.
Nogueira plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Lee steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Nogueira.

Lee postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Nogueira is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Lee is controlling him well.
Lee tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Lee throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Nogueira on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Nogueira wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

The ground and pound from Lee seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Lee is trying to ground and pound but Nogueira uses the momentary lack of control by Lee to regain half guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lee is trying to control the action in half guard but Nogueira is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Nogueira walks into a straight right hand from Lee.
Nogueira rushes Lee and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Lee wants the takedown. Nogueira is fighting it off but Lee persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Nogueira's guard against the cage.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Hitmon Lee wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Nogueira takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Lee jabs Nogueira right on the nose. Nogueira blinks but takes it well.
Ricardo Nogueira is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nogueira swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lee shoots in but no luck this time.
Hitmon Lee is winning the standup battle so far.
Nogueira smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Lee closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lee lands in his opponent's guard.

Lee not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Lee postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Nogueira is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lee, into his guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lee has a closed guard, preventing Nogueira from standing up.
Nogueira wants to stand and escape but instead Lee has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lee trying to control but Nogueira is working from the bottom.
Lee is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Lee stands up over Nogueira, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Lee working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Lee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lee looking to sit in guard and control but Nogueira gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Lee stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Nogueira swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Lee turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Lee misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lee clobbers Nogueira with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

After winning the bout, Hitmon Lee thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
