Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Klimas! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brock Larson! The judges for this bout are , and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Larson dodges the punch combination from Klimas.
The crowd cheers as Larson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Klimas doesn't seem phased though. Klimas throws a nice looking combination but Larson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Larson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Klimas circles away. Larson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Klimas swats him away and circles back towards the center. Larson is looking to clinch but Klimas is avoiding it.
Klimas throws out a loose jab but Larson uses good head movement to avoid it. Klimas swats away the attempt to clinch by Larson. Larson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Larson lands in his opponent's guard. Klimas is trying to control the position but Larson postures up. Larson works over Klimas with some ground and pound from guard. Larson is in close to Klimas's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Klimas is rocked! Larson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Klimas is keeping the position for now. Oh Klimas is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Larson with a flurry of punches that miss. Klimas seems to have got his legs back now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Larson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Larson with a flurry of punches that miss. Larson throws and elbow that misses. Klimas uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Larson's guard. Nice move by Klimas! Larson looking for a sweep. Not yet Larson, not yet. Klimas pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Larson is keeping the position for now. Klimas preventing the sweep. Klimas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Larson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Larson lands a decent shot there. Larson wants to sweep but no luck.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Larson moves out of range of the strikes. Klimas throws a series of punches but Larson moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Klimas lands the left hand. Nice uppercut there from Klimas.
Larson is rocked! Klimas fakes the body blow, causing Larson to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Larson goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
