The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir throws a series of punches but Diesel moves out of range. Mir tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Diesel manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Diesel throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mir tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Diesel is in Mir's guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Diesel preventing the sweep. Diesel showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Mir wants to sweep but no luck. Mir looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mir is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Diesel defends well. Mir wants to improve his position but instead Diesel has moved into half guard.
