The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Knight gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Knight breaks the clinch.
Knight looks for a takedown but Thompson sprawls well.
Knight throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Knight shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nice takedown defense from Thompson. No joy for Knight on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aaron Knight. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Knight attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Thompson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Knight takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Knight fails in his attempt to clinch.

The fight stays on the outside here - Knight looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Knight looks for the body kick but Thompson saw that one coming.

Knight closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Thompson did well to prevent Knight getting side control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Knight throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Knight moves into full mount! Thompson won't be happy about that!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thompson really wants to buck Knight off and get back to his feet.

Knight is persistently looking for the submission but Thompson is defending it well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Thompson won't enjoy being in this position. Knight looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Thompson is tapping - it's over boys! Knight picks up the submission victory!
