Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alejandro Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Markko Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Markko Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Dean Styles and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua misses with a wild combination.

Lesnar shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rua's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Rua can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lesnar controls the pace.

Lesnar is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rua has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lesnar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Markko Lesnar wasn't active enough on the ground.

Rua throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Lesnar is nestled in close to Rua, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Let's hope that Lesnar has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Markko Lesnar hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Alejandro Rua wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Rua throws a series of punches but Lesnar moves out of range.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Alejandro Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lesnar decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Markko Lesnar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Rua is rocked!
Lesnar postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Rua badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Lesnar around the waist but Lesnar pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Lesnar is the winner by TKO! Lesnar jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Markko Lesnar!
