PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Texas Pete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gorge Jurgel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jurgel has chosen Rock N Roll Train as his entrance music. Texas Pete is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Texas Pete!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gorge Jurgel!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pete works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Pete throws a poor cross that misses
and Jurgel counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Jurgel throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jurgel doesn't manage to clinch there - Pete circles away.
Jurgel moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Jurgel lands a jab to the head.
Jurgel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pete circles away quickly and effectively.
A telegraphed right hand from Pete misses the target.
Jurgel tries to clinch there but Pete circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pete moves out of range as Jurgel strikes.
Pete avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A big left from Jurgel misses.
Jurgel misses with an uppercut.
Jurgel misses the jab.
Pete rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Jurgel counters with a single leg into guard. Pete didn't expect that.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Jurgel is stalling in the full guard.

Pete working for a triangle but Jurgel defends it easily.
Pete looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jurgel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pete swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Gorge Jurgel.
Pete takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Pete uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jurgel.
Jurgel lands a jab to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pete misses with an uppercut.
Texas Pete is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jurgel thumps Pete with a low kick.
Pete fails to land with a series of punches.
Jurgel with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Pete misses with a combination
and Jurgel counters with a straight right hand.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jurgel slips under a jab from Pete.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gorge Jurgel dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Jurgel with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Pete to score with a decent uppercut.
Pete keeps the fight on the outside.
Jurgel feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Pete's calf.
Jurgel slips under a jab from Pete.
Pete waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Jurgel.
Jurgel throws a body punch but Pete moves out of range.
Gorge Jurgel seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Jurgel gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Pete pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A swing and a miss from Jurgel.
Jurgel tries to clinch up.
Pete throws a jab when Jurgel was well out of range.
Pete gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Jurgel misses with an uppercut.
A jab from Pete does it's job there.
Jurgel throws a nice looking combination but Pete bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jurgel throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A telegraphed right hand from Pete misses the target.
Pete is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jurgel.
Jurgel tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pete swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jurgel misses with a body shot.
Jurgel waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Pete.
Pete looks to land a left hand but Jurgel moved out of range nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jurgel connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Jurgel connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Pete is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jurgel.
Pete throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Jurgel connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jurgel misses with a hook. Pete ducked under it nicely.
Pete misses with a hook.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pete throws a jab when Jurgel was well out of range.
Jurgel fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Pete has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Pete missing with a left hand there. Jurgel was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Pete throws a hook to the side of Jurgel's head but Jurgel sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Jurgel misses with a left hand
and Pete counters with a straight right hand.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nice defenses there by Jurgel.
Pete defending well as Jurgel loads up on a big left hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Texas Pete will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Pete checks the leg kick.
Pete misses with an uppercut. Jurgel saw that one coming.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Jurgel!
Pete cracks Jurgel with a right hand to the side of the head.
Jurgel throws a lazy right hand but Pete sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gorge Jurgel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jurgel tests Pete's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Jurgel shoots in looking for a takedown but Pete manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jurgel's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jurgel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice uppercut lands for Pete. That snapped Jurgel's head back.


Jurgel is rocked!
Pete lands a big uppercut and this one is all over! His foe lies motionless on the canvas - a massive one punch knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Texas Pete!
Texas Pete really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that FinnFighter Nutrition (Five 160Q supps!) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
