And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mariusz Igielski!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brody misses with a takedown

and Igielski counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Brody's guard now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Igielski stands up from Brody's guard - Igielski perhaps looking for a knockout.

Brody gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Igielski closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

It looks like Igielski might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mariusz Igielski wasn't active enough on the ground.

Igielski is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Brody is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
