Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenji Murofushi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jung Sung! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sung thumps Murofushi with a low kick. Murofushi throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sung sees it coming and avoids it easily. A slapping leg kick lands for Sung.
Murofushi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Sung throws out a loose jab but Murofushi uses good head movement to avoid it. Murofushi throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Sung throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Murofushi keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sung. Murofushi throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Murofushi connects with the punch. Murofushi throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Murofushi pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Sung fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Murofushi manages to avoid it. Murofushi jabbing away but nothing is landing. Sung throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Sung uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Murofushi. Sung staying out of range there. Kenji Murofushi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Murofushi wants to clinch up but Sung keeps it at a distance. Sung avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A battle for position here, against the cage. Sung tries for a takedown. No joy.

Murofushi throws the left hand but Sung avoids the punch easily. The fight stays on the outside here - Murofushi looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sung uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Murofushi. Sung rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Murofushi moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Murofushi tries to sprawl but Sung drives through with a takedown into half guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Sung thows a huge punch but Murofushi dodges it nicely.

Murofushi avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Sung. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Murofushi wants to get back to full guard. Murofushi trying to control but Sung postures up.

Kenji Murofushi dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A left lands for Sung. A decent looking cross lands there for Murofushi. Murofushi throws the left hand but Sung avoids the punch easily. Jung Sung is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sung swinging wildly here.
Murofushi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Sung manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Murofushi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sung moves away. Sung is looking to clinch but Murofushi is avoiding it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sung throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Murofushi lands a really nice looking cross but Sung seems unphased.

Kenji Murofushi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Sung lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Murofushi circles away quickly and effectively. I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and Murofushi counters with a nice uppercut. Sung slips under a jab. Sung slips under a jab. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sung. Murofushi is looking to slow Sung down with leg kicks. Murofushi feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Sung's calf. Sung throws a low kick but Murofushi moves out of range easily. Murofushi throws a hook to the side of Sung's head but Sung sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Sung tried to score with a low kick but Murofushi checks it. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Murofushi lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sung has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sung and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Murofushi throws a shot from downtown. Sung moves away and avoids it. Sung throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Murofushi.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Sung. Murofushi is trying to control Sung's posture but Sung avoids it. Murofushi parries the strikes from Sung easily there. Sung is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Murofushi to escape.
Sung tries to move to mount but Murofushi blocks the move with his legs. Murofushi can't do much from the bottom here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murofushi is trying to get back to half guard. Murofushi is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sung off and has taken his back! Sung is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Murofushi off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Sung breaks Murofushi's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Sung connects with a couple of short punches. Sung must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Sung lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Murofushi is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Sung stopping the sweep attempt from Murofushi.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Murofushi trying to control but Sung is having none of it. Murofushi controlling his opponent. Murofushi tries to control but Sung wriggling away. Murofushi thowing shots but they're missing. Jung Sung has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sung keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Sung reaches up to try and control the position but Murofushi seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Sung rolls and tries to escape and now Murofushi has his back!
Murofushi working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Sung is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Kenji Murofushi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Murofushi's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
And that's the end of the fight! Kenji Murofushi showed his dominance in that final round. Well Murofushi has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
