Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lolo Parra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Parra throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Diaz. Diaz closes the distance and clinches up with Parra, looking for a takedown. Diaz pushes Parra against the cage but Parra circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. The fight stays on the outside here - Parra looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Diaz tries a head kick but it misses.
Diaz misses with a body kick. Parra keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Diaz keeps the fight on the outside. Diaz thows a body shot but no joy. Parra circles away from the clinch attempt.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Parra lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Diaz has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Diaz and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Parra blocks a head kick by Diaz.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Parra doesn't manage to clinch there - Diaz circles away.
Parra wants to clinch but Diaz slips to the side and Diaz counters with a flying knee. Nice. Diaz wants to clinch up but Parra keeps it at a distance. Diaz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Parra fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Diaz manages to avoid it. Parra takes the fight into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz can't break the clinch.
Nice body punch from Parra - that landed with a thud.
Knees in the clinch landing for Parra.
Parra lands a knee to the head.
Parra with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Diaz looking for a takedown. Parra lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Parra goes for a takedown in the clinch but Diaz prevents it.
Parra can't get the takedown.
Parra lands a body punch. Parra lands an uppercut. Parra drags the fight down to the ground.
Diaz is pushing down on Parra's leg trying to pass to half guard. Parra is fighting to maintain full guard but Diaz has managed to sneak the leg through. Diaz is breathing heavily. Parra is trying to stand back up but Diaz is controlling him
Diaz wants to pass the guard but Parra is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Diaz wants to control but Parra is keeping him busy. Parra really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diaz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Diaz throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Diaz is tying to control. Parra wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Diaz has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Lolo Parra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Parra dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Parra closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. A left hand lands to the body for Parra.
Diaz ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Diaz no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Parra gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Parra moves in looking to clinch but Diaz pushes him off. Diaz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Parra fails with an attempt to clinch.
Parra closes the distance but Diaz moves to the side and Diaz counters by clinching up. Diaz on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Parra misses with the head strike.
Parra breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Diaz stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Parra. Parra clinches but Diaz breaks the clinch and Diaz counters with a nice double leg into side control. Parra won't be happy with that. Diaz stands up and we're back to a striking position. Diaz takes the fight into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Diaz wants to get back to striking at distance but Parra won't allow it.
Parra wants to break free but Diaz has control.
Diaz pulls guard effortlessly. Diaz has control of Parra's left arm, preventing Parra from doing any damage. Diaz working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Parra has passed into half guard!
Diaz is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Nick Diaz will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Diaz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Parra's guard. Diaz is stalling in the full guard. Diaz gets to his feet. Parra looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Diaz fails with an attempt to clinch.
Parra gets a takedown into half guard. Parra prevents Diaz from improving his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Diaz wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Diaz looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Diaz is trying to control the position but Parra postures up. Diaz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Parra can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Parra trying to stand up but can't free himself from Diaz's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz working for a triangle but Parra defends it easily.
Parra wants to stand but Diaz is controlling his posture from full guard. Parra wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Diaz's closed guard. He's half up but Diaz has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Diaz pivots and extends the arm, Parra falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Diaz! Well done that man!
