Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shane Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Oscar Bluth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shane Velasquez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shane Velasquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, George Oscar Bluth! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Seu Braga and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velasquez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bluth circles away. Bluth looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Velasquez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bluth but Bluth pushes him off and we're back to square one. Bluth has his takedown stuffed and Velasquez counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Bluth really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Velasquez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bluth tries to get to full guard but Velasquez has control of the leg. Velasquez seems to be looking for submissions.
Velasquez wants to pass the guard but Bluth is defending well. Velasquez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Velasquez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's one minute gone in the round. Velasquez is working for a submission of some sort.
Velasquez prevents Bluth from improving his position. Velasquez is looking for a kimura here.
Bluth is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Velasquez is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Bluth is trying to control but can't.
Velasquez is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Bluth to slip a leg under and get back to full guard. Bluth wants to stand but Velasquez is controlling the position. Bluth working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Velasquez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Velasquez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Bluth has Velasquez pulled in close to control his posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Velasquez is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bluth is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bluth has escaped and now he's on top! Bluth pushes down on Velasquez's leg and manages to get into half guard. Velasquez is refusing to be controlled, as Bluth sits in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bluth is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Velasquez is not content to let Bluth control the position. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Bluth wants to lay and pray for a moment but Velasquez keeps working.
Despite being in the dominant position, George Oscar Bluth just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A kick lands to the mid section there for Bluth. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Velasquez walks into a jab. Velasquez shoots and misses and Bluth counters with a nice kick to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but George Oscar Bluth will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Bluth lands with a nice body kick. Bluth is looking to land body kicks. George Oscar Bluth is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bluth throws a head kick but Velasquez moves out of range.
Bluth swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Velasquez takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Velasquez tries for a takedown but Bluth circles away easily and Bluth counters with a good, hard body kick but Velasquez shrugs it off. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Velasquez has his takedown stuffed and Bluth counters with a shoot takedown. Velasquez fights it but they end up in guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bluth wanted to stand there but Velasquez had control of the position. Velasquez keeping moving, preventing Bluth from controlling successfully. Bluth tries to free his leg and advance position but Velasquez is retaining full guard. Bluth trying to control but Velasquez is working from the bottom. Velasquez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Velasquez looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Bluth passes into half guard.
Bluth is looking to take a break and control but Velasquez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bluth closes the distance and clinches. Knees to the body from Bluth.
Bluth lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Bluth connects with a nasty looking knee right to Velasquez's face.
It looks like Shane Velasquez has been cut. Bluth tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Bluth stalls.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bluth lands a big knee to the head and Velasquez goes down! Bluth pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). George Oscar Bluth!
