Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kalle Raisi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Phil Carpio! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carpio cracks Raisi with a right hand to the side of the head. Carpio pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Carpio thumps Raisi with a low kick. Carpio misses with a head kick.
Carpio throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Carpio throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Carpio throws a quick inside leg kick. A nice leg kick lands there from Carpio. Carpio misses with a low kick. Carpio lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Kalle Raisi has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Raisi closes the distance and clinches up with Carpio, looking for a takedown. Raisi pushes Carpio against the cage but Carpio circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Raisi throws a poor cross that misses
and Carpio counters with a nice low kick that buckles Raisi's knee momentarily. An inside leg kick lands from Carpio. Raisi throws a leg kick but Carpio checks it. Phil Carpio is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nice uppercut lands for Carpio. That snapped Raisi's head back.
Raisi lands a nice shot to the body.
Carpio throws a one two combo.
A slapping leg kick lands for Carpio.
Carpio connects with a single shot there. This has been an exciting period of action! Carpio throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carpio just misses with a punch to the body.
Carpio throws a nice outside leg kick. Some bone on bone action there as Raisi checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. A lazy left from Carpio finds it's target. The fighters circling - Carpio throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Carpio throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Carpio throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Carpio connects with a body shot that sends Raisi's belly button to the back. A shot to the liver by Carpio. Beautiful body shot. Raisi moves away from the strike by Carpio.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Raisi on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Raisi is trying hard to land a takedown here. Carpio sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Raisi throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Carpio sees it coming and avoids it easily. Carpio scoring well with a low kick there.
Raisi throws a nice looking combination but Carpio bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Carpio connects with a solid leg kick. Carpio keeps Raisi at a distance using the push kick. Raisi is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Raisi is breathing heavily. Carpio fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Jab by Carpio.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Carpio is looking to slow Raisi down with leg kicks. Carpio with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Carpio sizes up Raisi with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Carpio scores with a push kick. Raisi connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Carpio misses with a straight left. Carpio misses with a body kick. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Carpio works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Carpio stuns Raisi with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phil Carpio dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kalle Raisi's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Raisi throws a leg kick but Carpio moved away. Raisi slips under a jab. Raisi throws a leg kick and Carpio counters with a nice uppercut. A nice inside leg kick there by Carpio. That's going to slow Raisi down. Raisi misses with a takedown attempt - Carpio sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Raisi takes a shot right to the bread basket. This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Raisi might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Carpio lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Raisi is rocked! Raisi on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Oh Raisi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Raisi gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Carpio gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Phil Carpio! In his post fight interview, Phil Carpio started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
