PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Igor Gomes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emere Hoehne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoehne has chosen Renegade as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoehne shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Emere Hoehne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gomes displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hoehne.

Gomes drives through and clinches with Hoehne against the cage.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hoehne.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hoehne fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gomes to the ground. Hoehne is now in Gomes's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hoehne drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hoehne jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Gomes instigates a clinch.
Gomes is pressed up against the cage. Hoehne has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gomes down to the mat. Gomes avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Horrible takedown by Hoehne or perhaps it was just good defense by Gomes which made him look bad.

Gomes dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hoehne. That did some damage!

Gomes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hoehne tries to avoid it but Gomes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hoehne to the ground. Hoehne escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
